Jane Street will be hosting a Tech Talk on Thursday, April 9 at 6:00 PM CEST at FER’s Grey Hall.
At Jane Street, they rely heavily on inter-process communication and real-time message passing to drive many of our most critical systems, including those that ingest market data and implement trading strategies. As they scale up the number of components, however, it becomes increasingly difficult to reason about the consistency and correctness of the overall system.
In this talk, join us to explore how transaction logs, state machine replication, and control flow inversion have allowed them to structure their applications in a way that lets them reliably deal with data races and process failures. They will introduce Aria, a low-latency framework built on top of these ideas that has helped Jane Street scale their trading infrastructure while making it more performant, testable, and robust.
Register here to hear from one of Jane Street’s technologists, and of course, grab some food and swag!
